Hen weekends Ayia Napa
A hen weekend in Ayia Napa.
Ayia Napa is where the island's nightlife is concentrated. If the nights out are the centre of the weekend, this is the town built around that. If they aren't, we'll say so — and point you at Limassol or Protaras instead.

Is Ayia Napa right for your group?
Yes, if
- The nights out are the point, not an add-on
- The group is mostly in their twenties
- You want everything walkable at 2am
- Beach by day, bars by night, no long drives
Probably not, if
- The group is mostly in their thirties and up
- You want the dinner to be the main event
- Anyone is hoping for a quiet morning by the pool
- You're coming outside late May to late September
Through June, July and August the town runs young and loud, and that is the whole place rather than something you dip into for one evening. For some groups that is exactly what they came for. For others it is the reason they end up asking about Limassol. Protaras is fifteen minutes up the coast and is the calmer version — the sea and the daytime lead, with Ayia Napa's nights a short drive away when you want them.
Where to stay
There is no single right answer, and it depends on something most websites won't ask: how much of the weekend happens in daylight.
-
A villa with a pool
-
Apartments near the nightlife
-
A beachfront villa
-
A hotel
Some groups want a villa with a pool and a terrace, because the days matter as much as the evenings. Others genuinely just want a bed within walking distance of where they're going — and paying for a pool nobody uses is money that could have gone on the boat.
What groups actually do here
-
A boat to Cape Greco
-
Nissi Beach
-
The night out
-
Hair and makeup
-
A spa day
-
A photographer
When to come
Ayia Napa works from late May to late September. That is the honest window.
Outside it, much of the town is shut — the beach clubs, most of the nightlife, a good share of the restaurants. A hen weekend there in April or October means a quiet seafront and a lot of closed doors, which is a perfectly nice trip and not the one anyone booked. If your dates fall outside that window, Limassol stays open all year and is the better call. We'd rather tell you now than let you find out on arrival.
